London Borough of Ealing, United Kingdom ‐ May 14, 2024

A wee sleep in today. Still getting on top of the time difference but we're almost sorted ;) First stop was to an allotment to water a friend of Jenny's greenhouse plants. Then into town to visit the Science Museum with lunch at the Victoria & Albert Museum. With a walk to and into Harrods on the way home - it was another 15,000+ steps day, so home for a rest ;)

Family day today - helping my 3rd cousin Annie paint a room in her flat. Well, Leon helped ;) then it was a pub lunch, with a little walk through town to show sammie Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square and the horses.

A great day today - navigating the underground for the first time together and catching up with an old School friend, Tony Newman and his beautiful family, for lunch. So lovely to have friendships that span decades!
Ealing ‐ May 11

Day 2 in London. Parkrun Osterley up first with a lovely 5km walk. Then it was rest time, with the afternoon at a few pubs at the Hanwell Hootie. It's a one day music event, very similar to the jazz festival - with bands in all the pubs rotating each hr or so. You buy a cup for a pound and take it with you everywhere - which is cool!

London ‐ May 10

Arrived in London after a rather tough/not much sleep night flight - our first couple of days in London have been relaxed and so so lovely. Very lucky to be staying with Steve and Jenny who are family, in Ealing. Today was a quite day - with a walk to the shops and some sunshine, with Steve teaching sam to play the Ukelele.

Singapore, Singapore ‐ May 9

Our 3rd and final day in Singapore and the sun came out! Headed out for a loop around the open top bus yellow line, then a visit to the merlion statue. Back to Furama for a shower and final pack, then off to the airport on the MRT. We all navigated rhe commute like pro's too. Spent the afternoon at Changi - which is a destination in itself. Departing at 2330 to London. Singapore: it was wonderful. We'll see you again one day x

Singapore ‐ May 8

A slightly quieter day today - but still great. With a cable car to Sentosa Island, Madame Tussauds then Universal Studio's. It was back to the mainland for a walk round Chinatown then a rest at the motel. Off again for dinner at Marina Bay then Gardens of the Bay by night.

Singapore you beauty! Our first day of 180 was incredible! 30,000 steps around Singapore, with our Go City pass - and it was the BEST first day.

Flew to Auckland this arvo for the first leg. Officially off on our trip of a lifetime - which feels amazing!
